A major renovation to homestead treasuring its history

Design and Plans by: Nic Zuppicich Architect
Location: Omarama
Built on time: Fairly close being a renovation there were variations long the way
Built to budget: Yes
Size: 305sqm
Materials: Retained look of old homestead with plaster cladding; Euro style window timber joinery
Standout/ Challenges: The central heating system is run by a wood boiler. I designed a bar area with the client using old timber wool presses. All solid timber joinery and flooring. The biggest challenge was trying to integrate the old areas with the new additions and retain the homesteads feel. We also worked on their historic schist hut and bring it up to a earthquake standard for use by guests who will stay and fish in the magical Omarama stream.
